Bhubaneswar, June 21, 2026: Swaranjali Delhi, in association with Shreyas Webmedia Solutions, organized a special musical tribute in memory of the legendary sitar maestro Guru Pandit Suramani Bauri Bandhu Sethi at Gita Govinda Sadan, Bhubaneswar. The evening brought together eminent musicians, disciples, and classical music enthusiasts to celebrate the maestro’s enduring legacy through a series of soulful performances.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Shri Surendra Das, Editor of Chinta O Chetana and a senior cultural organizer. Among the distinguished guests present were Smt. Pankajini Sethi, wife of the late maestro, along with Shri Neel Achary, Shri Partha Sarathi Lenka, and Smt. Gouri Achary.
The event was spearheaded by Pandit Subrata De, a devoted disciple of Guru Pandit Suramani Bauri Bandhu Sethi and the chief artist of Swaranjali Delhi. The programme was coordinated by Guru Alok Das.

The evening opened with a graceful Mangalacharan and Sthayi presentation by dancer Geet Mallik. This was followed by a group classical vocal recital by students of Mancheswar Shishu Niketan—Om Prakash Mahalik, Srittik Kuanr, Dipanki Rana, Saismita Mahanti, Suprip Jena, Salvi Tanaya Rout, Saikrupa Das, and Ananya Pattnaik—under the guidance of Guru Abhimanyu Sahu. The performance was accompanied on tabla by Guru Jitendra Sahu.
A highlight of the programme was an instrumental jugalbandi featuring Shri Jiban Prakash Das on sitar and Dr. Sandeep Kumar Rout on sarod. The duo presented Raga Mishra Shivaranjani, beginning with a vilambit composition in Ektal and concluding with a drut composition in Teentaal. They were accompanied by young tabla artist Matru Prasad Panda and tanpura accompanist Lakshmipriya Behera.
Renowned vocalist Dr. Bilambita Banisudha then enthralled the audience with a Hindustani classical recital in Raga Madhukouns, presenting a vilambit composition in Ektal, a drut composition in Teentaal, and devotional Hindi bhajans. She was accompanied by Guru Kulamani Sahu on tabla, Guru Dhaneswar Ojha on harmonium, and Lakshmipriya Behera on tanpura.
The programme concluded with a captivating sitar recital by Pandit Subrata De, who presented Raga Desh followed by a melodious Dhun, accompanied on tabla by Guru Prana Prakash Das.
The sound arrangement for the event was managed by Mrudul Nath of RMS Audio, Hyderabad, ensuring a seamless musical experience for the audience.
As a gesture of appreciation, Smt. Mayuri Sinha and Smt. Bijayalakshmi Mishra received honors on behalf of Mancheswar Shishu Niketan. All participating artists were felicitated with certificates of appreciation by Swaranjali Delhi in recognition of their valuable contributions to the programme.
The programme was attended by the team from Shreyas Webmedia Solutions, led by Shri Abani Kumar Sahu, who joined the gathering in paying homage to the legendary maestro. Their presence underscored the organization’s continued support for cultural initiatives and the promotion of Indian classical arts.
