1/07/2024- Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha, has rapidly transformed into a significant trading and IT hub, not only within the state but also across eastern India. This growth trajectory was recognized by the World Bank in 2014 when it ranked Bhubaneswar among the best places to establish an IT industry in India. The state government has bolstered this development by establishing software parks in four key cities: Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Cuttack, and Berhampur.

Key IT Parks and Initiatives

Infocity-1

Infocity-1 stands out as a premier IT park, developed under the Export Promotion Industrial Parks (EPIP) Scheme to provide top-tier infrastructure for IT-related industries. Located near Patia, this five-star park hosts major IT players such as Infosys, Wipro, NexGen, IBM, ESSPL, and Trident Softech. Infocity-1 has been instrumental in attracting significant IT investment and talent to Bhubaneswar.

JSS Software Technology Park

Odisha’s first private IT park, introduced by JSS Company, was inaugurated in 2010. JSS Software Technology Park gained prominence by winning STPI awards for three consecutive years (2013-14, 2014-15, and 2015-16). Located about 28 km from Bhubaneswar’s main town in the Khurda zone, this SEZ campus sits strategically on the National Highway bypass road, making it easily accessible.

OCAC Tower

The OCAC Tower, operational since 2014, was built to support IT/ITeS/ESDM companies in Odisha. This tower provides incubation space for startups and established IT companies, fostering innovation and growth in the sector. The facility offers state-of-the-art infrastructure and a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.

Fortune Towers

Another significant IT-specific project is Fortune Towers, developed by the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO). This seven-story building, covering 3.61 acres in a prime location in Bhubaneswar, houses major occupants like Reliance, Tata Teleservices, STPI, and OPGC.
